Why should I use Amp Agronomy?

Amp Agronomy™, a foliar nutritional line built on Catalyst Technology™, was developed by Gulf Coast Organic (GCO), a green industry supplier based in Foley, Alabama. GCO has partnered with Sod Solutions to bring Amp Agronomy solutions to the agriculture, sod, golf, and sports field industry.

With its nano-sized nutrients, Amp Agronomy enhances all plants with its patented Catalyst Technology that makes the nutrients more plant available. Custom solutions are developed for specific crop or application based on a complete soil analysis. Amp Agronomy’s complete line features foliar products that not only boost the strength of the plant and soil, but also are more environmentally friendly due to ultra low application rates, typically only one to two quarts per acre.

Why do liquid foliar applications make such a profound difference?

One of the largest issues many growers face today is ensuring the fertilizer they apply actually reaches the plant. When fertilizer is laid out onto soil for absorbency, nutrients often get tied up with other molecules that are present in the soil. This means the majority of the nutrients you apply never actually make it to the plant. The small amount of nutrients that make it to the plant are often larger than what the plant’s root hairs can absorb from the soil. Our liquid, nano-sized nutrients are  foliarly applied so soil tie-up doesn’t occur, and so the nutrients are small enough to actually enter through the plant’s cell walls for maximum efficiency and nutrient uptake.

Why is carbon so essential to soil health and nutrient balance?

Along with nitrogen and oxygen, carbon is one of the essential building blocks of all organic life. In fact, 18 percent of the human body is made up of carbon while approximately 50 percent of a plant is made up of carbon. Soil is not excluded from the definition of organic life. Like plants and animals, it too is carbon-based and needs carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen to remain balanced and healthy. Managing the carbon to nitrogen (C:N) ratios in our soils is essential and easy to do. We frequently apply traditional fertilizers made up of primarily nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and other salts to our soils. However, we have been over-applying fertilizer into our soils for the purpose of increased plant yields. As a result, the excess salts throw the nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon soil balance off. We are then faced with the issue of bringing back the soil’s balanced condition so that we can continue to efficiently grow plants and crops without harming the environment or microbes that live within the soil. Adding organic carbon to the mix immediately stimulates and encourages beneficial microbial activity. To read more, click here.
